Scia · Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026 (anonymous statistics). Scia is a free racing game with no ads and no purchases, made by Danilo Puglisi (info@danilopuglisi.com). Versione italiana.
What we collect
- If you create an account: the name you choose and your PIN (stored only in encrypted form, not readable).
- Game data: your lap times and “ghosts” (the path of your car around the lap), your saved career, the driving assists you used.
- If you turn on alerts: the technical address your phone provides to receive notifications, and which alerts you want.
- If you leave your email for news (optional, only with an account and only if you are at least 14): the address, the date of your consent and the language. We use it only to send you Scia news (new tracks, updates), at most once a month, based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We do not combine it with other data, we do not use it to profile you and we never pass it on. You can remove it whenever you want from the menu → Alerts and privacy, or by replying to one of our emails.
- Credit rewards for account, alerts and email: we only note which ones you have already claimed, because each counts once. If you later turn off alerts or remove your email, the reward stays yours.
- Your game settings (controls, graphics, personal best times) stay on your device.
- Anonymous usage statistics: what gets opened, the races (category, track, controls and assists used, how it ended, how long it lasted, frames per second), game errors, the type of device in generic classes (phone/tablet/computer, system, browser) and where you play from (website, installed app, portal). They are tied only to a random code for that visit, which the browser deletes when you close the game: no name, no link to your account, no code that recognises you the next time. Your IP address is not stored. We keep them for 90 days. You can turn them off in the menu → Alerts and privacy → “Anonymous statistics”, and they are not collected if your browser sends “Do Not Track”.
- If you have an account: also the days on which you used it (date only), to understand how many people come back to play; they are deleted together with the account.
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, payment details or advertising identifiers. We do not use cookies, other companies' analytics tools or advertising. We use the statistics under a legitimate interest: understanding what works and improving the game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
What it is for
Only to make the game work: saving your career, showing the leaderboards between players, online races and the alerts you chose. Your data is never sold or passed on to anyone.
Where it is
On a server in Germany (Hetzner), in the European Union. Alerts go through your phone's notification service (Apple, Google or Mozilla).
For how long
As long as you keep the account. You can delete it at any time from the game menu (“delete account”): your name, times, saved career, alerts and email are removed immediately.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data by writing to info@danilopuglisi.com, and you can contact the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
